Manchester United rounded off their season with a routine 4-0 win over Stoke, but it was not enough to secure a fourth consecutive

Dimitar Berbatov missed two presentable chances to give United the lead prior to Fletcher's 31st-minute opener. The Scottish midfielder lashed home from close range after Nemanja Vidic's header had struck Wayne Rooney and Dean Whitehead.

Rooney was then withdrawn as a precaution following an apparent recurrence of his groin problem, but there was still time for the hosts to add a fourth as Park met Giggs' corner with a firm diving header.
