Manchester United will let Ben Foster leave this summer for just £2.5 million, according to a report in The Sunday Mirror.

The 27-year-old has struggled to hold down a first team spot this season, making just eight Premier League appearances.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson did not allow Foster to go out on loan despite interest in January, but now seems to be ready to let the former Stoke City goalkeeper go to help resurrect his career at the end of the season.

Aston Villa and Sunderland have reportedly been following Foster's situation this campaign and could make a move at the end of the campaign.

As a result of his lack of first-team action, Foster's chances of making England's World Cup squad have been hampered, with Robert Green amongst the players above him in the national pecking order.
